Iztuzu Beach
Iztuzu is one of Turkey's best beaches, often called the "Turtle beach" because of its rare breeding grounds for sea turtles. It is unique because there is no beach like Iztuzu with one side being fresh water and the other Mediterranean with crystal clear waters and velvet shores. According to legend, Iztuzu used to be a harbor in olden times where salt, fish and even slaves were sold. The beach is almost 5 km long and is very good for boating. Sun beds and umbrellas can easily be rented.
There are two ways to go to the beach of Iztuzu. The beach is accessible by a 20 minute boat ride from Dalyan town. The second way is to take the mini-buses. The journey is very pleasant, moving along the Sülüngür Lake and the pine trees.
Since it is a sandy beach, it is perfect for those who love to build sand castles. There are tasty snacks that are prepared and sold by local women along the beach area. Watching the sunset is another way to enjoy in Iztuzu beach and it is also a huge hit with artists, musicians and painters.
