Poipu Beach
Kauai is greenest of Hawaii's four major islands. It has rich fertile landscape with rugged cliffs in the northwest. It offers pristine white beaches along the north and south coasts. Popularly known as Garden Isle, Hollywood heads here for a tropical and remote locale on a regular basis. Truly a natural wonder it has Mount Waialeale the wettest place on earth, Waimea Canyon the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" and many other spectacular features.
Kauai has the distinction of hosting one of the world's best beaches - Poipu. It is a series of three white crescents along turquoise waters on the south coast. It offers excellent water sports activities like swimming, surfing and snorkeling.
You can simply laze around under swaying palm trees. It is a perfect destination for families with calm waters and clean sand. You can also visit Poipu Beach Park where shallow near-shore waters make it ideal for safe swimming. You can take a day's excursion complete with picnic hampers.
Poipu Beach is no doubt most captivating but Kauai has other options for travelers like two championship golf courses, kids can go for horseback riding, adventure lovers can indulge in hiking, kayaking, biking, fishing, sailing and a host of other sports. The summers can be really hot so best time to visit is from November to April .If you want to enjoy rains then May to October are more favorable.
